After being the 2021 winner of Ecoembes' Urban Circular Challenge award, we are proud to announce our position as a 2022 Circular Packaging Challenge finalist for the same entity.
To better understand these two nominations, it's important to introduce their organizer: Ecoembes. Created in 1996, Ecoembes is a Spanish company that oversees the recycling of yellow and green garbage can waste in Spain. It is the Spanish equivalent of the well-known Citeo in France, already a partner of Lixo since 2020.
The company works with individuals, public bodies and private sector companies to make domestic waste recycling a reality in Spain. Their primary aim is to improve the quality of life and environmental awareness of citizens through their sorting and recycling habits.
These two European challenges bring together and reward startups working to improve the circularity of resources, both on an industrial scale and in terms of how they are used by individuals.
The Urban Circular Challenge we won in 2021 focuses on circular economy startups providing a concrete response to one of the diverse challenges facing European cities today.
In 2022, Lixo was a finalist in the Circular Packaging Challenge, which honors European startups working on solutions to improve the circularity of packaging.
These two consecutive appointments confirm Lixo's role as a major player in the implementation of innovative solutions to the challenges of resource circularity.
