Lixo is a finalist in the Circular Challenge Citeo 2020

Despite what we know about it, the year 2020 will also have been marked by good news for the circular economy, as Lixo is one of the 10 finalists in the 5th edition of the Circular Challenge Citeo. 

Citeo is a not-for-profit company born of the merger between Eco-Emballages and Ecofolio in 2017. At the time, the two companies came together around a common project: reducing the environmental impact of packaging and waste paper. 

Their ambition is clear: "We want to combine economic and environmental performance by devising solutions that advance recycling at the lowest possible cost. We want to inspire everyone to take action on a daily basis."

So what is the Circular Challenge?

Quite simply, this is the 1st initiative launched by Citeo to provide long-term support for prevention projects based on eco-design. This includes sorting, collection, reuse and recycling along the household packaging and paper value chain.

The aim of this gas pedal is to detect and accelerate innovative solutions proposed by young companies in the circular economy. The aim is to make available new resources and technologies designed to meet the socio-environmental challenges of our time and enable a genuine ecological transition. 

For this 5th edition, the jury reviewed over 250 applications from 47 countries to draw up the list of winners. They include such leading open-innovation players as Hipli, which has invented an e-commerce parcel that can be reused more than 100 times, and Plastic Fisher, which develops low-cost solutions to reduce plastic pollution of rivers.

With our technology arousing strong interest among waste management players, and Citeo a key partner for the various stakeholders in this ecosystem, this appointment marks the start of a long adventure between our two companies. 

Through this collaboration, Lixo and Citeo are creating a significant development lever for resource circularity, and maximizing the scope of the impact projects they choose to set up for the industry.
