The David with Goliath competition, organized each year by RAISE SHERPAS and BAIN & COMPANY, highlights France's best practices in Open Innovation and distinguishes the most value-creating alliances between start-ups and major corporations.
On November 24, 2022, the first prize in this competition was awarded to Lixo and Veolia ! woop woop !
Using Lixo technology, Veolia analyzes the composition of collected waste streams in real time, and maps the quality of sorting on a bin-by-bin basis. This information enables public authorities to decide on preventive and curative actions to be implemented locally to improve the quality of sorting at source.
As for Lixo, thanks to its collaboration with Veolia, the start-up was able to adapt its solution to the needs of a demanding field and benefit from the know-how of this leader to massively expand the use of its solution. A real breakthrough in the service of the local circular economy!
And this is just the beginning! In December, 10 additional collection vehicles will be fitted with Lixo sensors in the Lille area. This will make it possible to monitor an average of 11,000 tonnes of waste per year, a little more than the weight of the Eiffel Tower. Impressive, isn't it?
